As the current Solicitor General of Thomas County, Mr. Pope is the leading prosecutor responsible for prosecuting all misdemeanor offenses occurring within the limits of Thomas County. He served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Moultrie, Thomasville, and Valdosta offices of the Southern Judicial Circuit District Attorney from 1999 until he left the District Attorney's Office in 2004 to open his own practice.

Since 2004, he has maintained a private practice, first as Pope and Jewell and presently as 'The Andrew W. Pope Firm' located at 2024 East Pinetree Boulevard, Thomasville, GA. His private practice has included Civil and Criminal Litigation including Divorce, Child Custody, Child Support, Legitimations, Juvenile Law, and Simple Wills and Trusts.

Andrew W. Pope is highly involved in the community by serving in Kiwanis as Past President and current President of the Backpack Buddies Foundation an organization established to help solve food insecurity among children in Thomas County. He also serves on the committee for the Oakfest music festival. This annual event has raised over $150,000 for the Treehouse Children's Advocacy Center.
